Over the past seven decades we have been committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in the heart languages our listeners were born to speak, yet there are still millions of people to reach.
To bring awareness to our mission of “creatively sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ worldwide through media and partnerships,” and to raise funds to further programming to reach those who have not yet heard the Gospel, we are excited to announce our third annual Race to Share the Gospel Around the World, which for the first time this year will include additional ways to participate!
For our traditional Virtual Challenge, participants are invited to run, walk, bike, hike, or even swim 13 miles over 16 days to make an eternal impact in the lives of millions around the world. The virtual challenge will kick off on April 27 and end on May 12 and allows anyone from around the world to participate.
We are also excited to announce, new this year, we will hold an in-person 5K Run/Walk and a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk at our kickoff event. In addition, we hope to have one of our Albanian pastors in attendance for participants to meet and run alongside in the 1-Mile Fun Run!
This year’s goal is to raise $15,000, for ministry expansion in the Balkan region, allowing millions of people to have access to the message of the Gospel. All proceeds from the race will benefit The Tide® ministry’s outreach in this region of Eastern Europe. In 2015 we began reaching Albanian-speaking people in Albania and Kosovo. In 2023 we expanded to include a Macedonian language broadcast in North Macedonia. This year we plan to take the Gospel into neighboring Balkan countries including Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia, plus add programming in North Macedonia. Consisting of a mix of ethnic groups and religions, they were each included as part of Yugoslavia until 1991. These ethnic groups, which have now become independent countries, speak similar languages and share many common traditions. Unfortunately, the region has suffered some brutal wars and ethnic cleansing over the past 30 years and many people throughout the region do not have access to the Christian message. Our goal is to produce a series of TV programs to specifically share the Gospel with each ethnic group. The audio from these programs will also be edited and formatted for broadcast on radio stations in each country to enable more people to receive the message of hope in Christ.
There are still millions of people who have yet to hear the Gospel, and we are determined to make a worldwide impact. Our third annual Race to Share the Gospel is a tangible way for our supporters to learn more about what we are doing around the world and take an active part in our mission. It is exciting to know the Gospel can be shared through our television and radio broadcasts in places where the majority of inhabitants do not have a personal relationship with Jesus.
For those who are interested in learning about the Gospel but have no means of accessing a Bible, our broadcasts might be the only opportunity to know about Christ’s love for them. When everything seems so uncertain, believers in Christ can stand on the hope and promises of God and that He has a plan and a purpose for everything — including our ‘Race to Share the Gospel!’
