Welcoming a New Director of Development

Welcome Mark!

A significant aspect of The Tide Vision 2020 is to take steps to sustain the growth and longevity of The Tide ministry. One specific goal was to hire an additional team member to focus on expanding the support base for our varied ministry activities around the globe.  We are pleased to announce that Mark D. Story has been hired as The Tide Director of Development, and will join The Tide ministry team on June 1, 2018.

Mark grew up in rural Maine as the son of a protestant church pastor and as a child came to know Christ as his personal Savior. Mark brings to The Tide ministry both educational qualifications and valuable experience. He first received theological training with a BS degree from Lancaster Bible College and then went on to receive nonprofit training with an MS degree from Eastern University. Mark has been working in the nonprofit sector for over 25 years during which time he has led fundraising efforts for a Christian Conference Center, Habitat for Humanity, and the Franklin County Public Libraries. Perhaps most importantly, Mark’s heart resonates with the purpose and mission of The Tide ministry, having served along with his wife as missionaries in Tanzania through Africa Inland Mission.

In 1996 Mark married Jill (McKee) who teaches 5th grade at Shalom Christian Academy. Together they have two daughters. Moriah graduated from Greencastle Antrim HS and will be studying communications at Lancaster Bible College. Lydia is president of her sophomore class at Shalom Christian Academy. The Story family currently resides in Greencastle, PA and are members of Cornerstone Bible Church in Greencastle. Mark’s hobbies and interests include camping, riding an antique motorcycle, backyard gardening, and processing firewood. We are fully convinced that Mark has been brought to The Tide ministry through God’s hand of direction and are thrilled to welcome him to our team!
