Hasina Safi, the former and last minister for women’s affairs in Afghanistan, recently relayed some disturbing news — the world has “abandoned” Afghanistan. After the Taliban took over Afghanistan in 2021, world leaders have been “confused” on how to help those left to fend for themselves in the war-torn nation. Many of the rulings passed down by the Taliban are even in violation of international human rights regulations. “The international community do not know what to do. There are conferences, there are events, there are various kinds of programs. But there is no practical result which can really help the disappointment inside Afghanistan for those who are at risk and deprived,” said Safi.
The people in Afghanistan are facing hardships unlike any we see in America. Christians are being persecuted, women are being brutalized, and millions of people are being displaced from their homes. It’s important that Christians work together to provide not only physical aid, but spiritual support as well. This is why we are working endlessly to bring the hope of the Gospel to listeners all throughout the region.
Through partnership with another ministry in the region to get the Gospel to the next generation in Afghanistan, we produce weekly radio programs for broadcast through the TWR Silk Road medium wave transmitter. The goal is to broadcast Gospel content into Afghanistan in the Dari and Pashto languages so people can hear and understand the Gospel in their own language.
While it may take time for the Gospel seeds planted in the hearts of people through these radio programs to come to fruition, our expectation is that the broadcasts will be heard by spiritually hungry people throughout Afghanistan. It is vital that we work to share the Gospel any way we can, and we are thrilled to partner with likeminded organizations to help accomplish this goal.
We thank you for your financial support and prayer as we seek to share the Good News of Jesus in Afghanistan and around the world. Your generosity allows us to continue making an impact and allows the people hear the message of Hope and know they have not been abandoned.
