The Tide® Ministry Reminds Christians of the True Meaning of the Coming of Christ

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.— With Christmas quickly approaching, most Christians are preparing to celebrate the birth of Christ with gifts, decorations, and celebrations with family and friends. It seems to those in Western civilization that the Christmas spirit permeates every aspect of life; however, there are those around the world who have never had the chance to hear the story of the birth of Christ, or for that matter, the message of the Gospel.

For The Tide® (www.TheTide.org) ministry, a global missional outreach ministry that shares the Gospel daily through radio broadcasts in over 30 different languages in 39 countries on three continents, the Christmas season is not just a time to celebrate the birth of Christ, but a clear reminder of the urgency of their mission to spread the Good News to all corners of the world through radio broadcasts.

“It’s so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season,” said The Tide® Ministry Director Don Shenk. “For Christians, this season should be a reminder of not only the birth of Christ, but the reason that He came—to save the lost. We at The Tide® ministry are determined to share the Good News to all corners of the globe in hopes to fulfill the Great Commission and ‘make disciples of all nations.’”

Currently, The Tide® ministry shares the Gospel reaching millions of people including those in Afghanistan, Albania, Bhutan, India, Kosovo, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Zimbabwe.

Listeners all around the world have written to The Tide® ministry to express their thanks for the ability to hear the Gospel in their own language:

“I have been a listener [of] your programs [for the] last ten months. It gives me peace, hope and joy. Now, all my family members also listen to this program and we are growing in fellowship and love of the Lord. I also listen to other language programs. Thanks for sending me the literature.”

“I’m thankful for the spiritual food. I want to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ. My life is hard, but I will trust in God to protect me all the days.”

“Thank you for the revival. Peace be with you. I crave for His word. I want to join your bible study.”

“Thank you for the word of God. I was in dire straits, but now I am encouraged.”

“This radio station has become like a special friend to me. I listen because it fills my heart with joy and peace and I find a lot of wisdom for my daily life. I come from a traditional Muslim family but I have never been interested in religion. Thank you for sharing so much wisdom and peace to weary hearts.”

“While listening to the program, I felt like I had a revelation and in my heart I understood the meaning of ABBA, my Father. Since then, I felt a shift in my spiritual life and for the first time I understood joy beyond human logic. Thank you for these powerful programs.”

The Tide® is currently celebrating the past 75 years of global missions, while also looking forward to the next seven decades with their plan called “The Tide® Diamond Vision:”
