The Tide® Devotionals Touch Hearts

Earlier this year, The Tide® began a new initiative to share gospel messages through weekly devotionals. While The Tide ministry is motivated by the mission to creatively share the love and hope of Jesus around the world, the devotionals serve as weekly encouragements here at home.

“We hope these devotionals will serve as a weekly dose of grace, love, reassurance and inspiration to those who sign up to receive them,” said The Tide Director Don Shenk.“The Bible tells us that if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we will have fellowship with one another. Whether we are neighbors in close proximity or several nations apart, we are one community in Christ.”

A recent devotional from The Tide ministry focused on clean and renewed minds, as Paul talks about in Ephesians 4:23. In fact, our senses, interactions and foundations can all contribute to how we can keep our minds focused on Christ:

  • Eyes: What we see feeds into our minds and affects our subconscious.
  • Ears: What we hear affects us as well, whether music or conversation. Does it add value or pollute your mind?
  • Associations: Friends, family or those we spend time with affect what we think about. As it’s said, “association determines assimilation.” “Stop being deceived: ‘Wicked friends lead to evil ends’” (1 Corinthians 15:33 ISV).
  • Beliefs: What we ultimately believe is the most important factor. To grow our faith, we must feed on the word of God.

Scripture reading: “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10: 17); “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby” 1 Peter 2:2; and “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23).

Prayer: In the Name of Jesus Christ, Lord wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and clean me from my sin. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. I thank you for your word. Amen.

“We pray The Tide devotionals will reach people here in the U.S. as well as in the many countries where we minister with gospel radio programming,” Shenk added. “When God’s people come together, even if it is through the internet, via email or over the airwaves, there is strength among believers.”
