We are thrilled to announce that after two months of collecting new and gently used shoes for our third annual “Your Soles, Their Souls” shoe drive, we have gathered an astonishing 6,500 pairs of shoes! The shoes collected will benefit micro-businesses in developing countries around the world, and the funds raised from this campaign will benefit Gospel outreach through literacy classes in India.
“Many of us have shoes in our closets that we never or hardly wear,” said Director, Don Shenk. “Our annual shoe drive is a great way for our supporters to clean out their closets while supporting our ministry work. We are so blessed to have surpassed our goal and can’t wait to see how the Lord will use these shoes to impact His kingdom.”
Through a community effort, new and gently worn shoes were collected and donated over a two-month span. Our partnering organization will soon pick up the shoes and give us funds for them. This year’s funds will allow us to open 20 additional Gospel Outreach Literacy Classes in India where our “boots on the ground” team will teach using biblically based material, exposing the students to the Gospel as they learn. Along with reaching Indian villagers, our partnering organization will send the shoes to over 20 developing countries, impacting even more of the world.
“We are always looking for creative ways to further our mission and spread the Gospel,” said Shenk. “It is edifying to see our supporters gather together and help out in such a tangible way.”
