The Tide Introduces Medical Camps to Seeker’s Conferences

The Tide© is excited to see new developments and opportunities arise in India through our partner ministry on site. Four Seeker’s Conferences are scheduled to be held in India from May 10-15, 2013.  These meetings will take place in four villages in a volatile area of India for listeners of one of our language broadcasts. Our workers will be partnering with local church planters to lead these Seekers Conferences and plan to offer two Baptism Programs for the listeners following in response to the meetings.

An exciting new addition to this outreach will be a Medical Camp held on May 12, 2013.  A local Indian doctor is volunteering his time and medical expertise to lead the Medical Camp, offering medical services to people in need free of charge.

Due to government restrictions, non-profit organizations cannot be strictly a “religious” organization and must include community outreach to avoid suspicion. While there is religious freedom to worship in whatever religion you choose, it is illegal to attempt to convert another individual to your religion. In certain areas, like the one The Tide’s workers will be in this week, religious restrictions can create an unsafe environment for any suspected Christian outreach.

Be in prayer for the Seeker’s Conferences, Baptism Programs, and Medical Outreach as our workers display the attributes of Jesus Christ through meeting people’s spiritual as well as physical needs.  Pray for safety for the workers and participants as the programs go on this week. Keep in mind the workers as they travel and speak amidst the oppressive heat of the Indian warm season—temperatures are already exceeding 40°C (100°F) and will continue to rise throughout the coming months. Above all, pray that lives will be touched with the life-changing message of Jesus!
