The mission of The Tide is to ‘creatively share the Good News of Jesus Christ worldwide through media and partnerships.’ We would like to have as many people as possible join hands with us in telling people about Jesus. We focus most of The Tide resources on producing radio programs to tell people about Jesus in the language they were born to speak and then providing on the ground resources to help them transition from curious listeners to committed disciples of Christ. Naturally we need lots of help with that, primarily in the form of financial assistance to support all of The Tide ministry activities in parts of the world where there is great need. At the same time we realize that the majority of people who support The Tide want to do more than make monetary donations. Yes, many of you carry the work of The Tide in your prayers, and others participate in various volunteer capacities, including short term mission trips, but what about you personally telling someone about Jesus? This is something Jesus expects from all of his disciples, but too often we don’t make intentional efforts to tell people, face to face, about Jesus and his love for them. By accepting The Tide “Have you heard?” challenge you will be setting a goal to share your faith with people you interact with or come into contact with through your daily activities.
Very simply, The Tide is inviting people to accept the challenge to ask at least ten people during the coming year if they have heard what Jesus did for them. If someone responds that they have not heard, the door is then opened to share God’s plan of salvation or your own testimony and invite the person to your church. If the response is “Yes, I know Jesus,” then you can rejoice in meeting a fellow Christ follower and invite that person to join you and The Tide in our mission to be “Creatively sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ worldwide through media and partnerships. To help you in this challenge The Tide will provide you with some simple resources; a ‘Have you heard?’ t-shirt that may be worn and used as a conversation starter, a simple guide to sharing the story of Jesus with others, and some brochures to help interest people in the work of The Tide. We will also help to hold you accountable by periodically contacting you to hear how the challenge is going for you. Are you willing to take the challenge? If so, register here. Together let’s make a difference in our neighborhoods and communities by introducing more and more people to Jesus!
