The Tide® Radio Ministry Helps Bring Peace and Transformation to the People of Kosovo

The Tide® global radio ministry is celebrating 70 years of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, bringing peace and transformation to the people of Kosovo and other nations around the world.

One woman in Kosovo, Elona, heard The Tide’s newest radio program, and now she listens regularly. She wrote, “I can’t go to church because my family are Muslims and they are very violent about changing religion. But the preacher on the radio program is tender and loving, and at the same time is sharing the truth with power.”

“Unfortunately,” reports The Tide Director Don Shenk, “Radio 7 in Kosovo has received threats to stop airing in the country. Please pray for the safety of our facilities and staff, so that we can continue reaching Elona and others with the message and love of Jesus.”

Radio 7 has been airing since 2002, but in 2014, its founder began efforts in partnership with The Tide ministry to establish radio-based church planting in Albania. The majority of Radio 7’s programs are translations of North American radio programs primarily focusing on believers, but now with The Tide ministry’s capability to produce programs in the native language of Albanians, many more believers—and potential new believers—may be reached.

In January 2015, Radio 7 began broadcasting on a separate station to the mainly Albanian population of neighboring Kosovo. Today, The Tide radio global ministry has three Albanian heart language programs throughout Albania and Kosovo.

With almost a quarter of the world’s population living within the current range of The Tide radio programming, and nearly 7,000 languages spoken in the world today, the opportunities are tremendous.
